Something not working, or just want to tell me about a cat you caught? Email hello@nekoalley.com. A real person reads it.

The camera says it doesn't see a cat

The catch screen looks for a cat in frame before it's confident. Cats that are far away, mostly hidden, or facing away can miss. Get a little closer, or catch anyway. You can always keep what it makes.

The coat doesn't look like my cat

The sprite is built from the colors in the photo, so lighting matters more than anything. Even, natural light gets closest. A photo taken under warm indoor light will read warmer than the cat really is.

My stickers aren't in Messages

They live under the + button in a conversation, in the app list, not inside Apple's own "Stickers" item, which is where most people look first. Tap +, scroll to Neko Alley. Every cat you've caught is already in there; there's nothing to add by hand.

My cat isn't in the Dynamic Island

Open a cat and turn on Show on island. It needs an iPhone with a Dynamic Island, and Live Activities enabled for Neko Alley in Settings → Neko Alley.

I got a new phone

Cats sync through your iCloud account, so signing in to the same Apple Account brings them along. If they haven't appeared, check that Neko Alley is allowed to use iCloud (Settings, your name, iCloud, Show All, Neko Alley) and give it a minute online. Your Top 8 and your walks stay on the phone they happened on; setting up the new phone from a backup of the old one brings them too.

I want a cat gone

Open the cat, then Delete this catch. That deletes that sighting's sprite and photo, right away and for good. A cat you have photographed more than once keeps the other sightings; the page says how many stay. A cat leaves your Top 8 when the last sighting goes.

A cat went home

Cats you adopt into the Top 8 want a walk every couple of days. Miss a whole week and one goes home to the Nekodex. Nothing is deleted: every sighting and every metre you two covered is still on their page, and you can adopt them again whenever you like.

Turning postcards off

Postcards are at most 1 quiet note a day from a cat who is out. They arrive silently in Notification Center. To stop them, open YOU → Settings & privacy and turn off Postcards from your cats.

Still stuck?
